This galaxy - ??0644-741 - is known as a ring-shaped
galaxy that was formed as the result of a huge collision of
galaxies. When galaxies collide, one of them goes through the
other; isolated stars very seldom interact. The ring-shaped
structure is formed as the result of gravitational perturbation
when a small galaxy goes through a big one. When it happens,
the interstellar gas and dust become dense, which entails a
wave of star-formation that spreads from the contact point like
waves on the surface of a pond. The small galaxy has already
left the field of vision of this picture taken by the Hubble
Telescope. AM 0644-741 is about 300 million of light years away.
Explanation - in the picture we can see the death of a group
of Mothers-planets that don't carry life with redistribution
of energies going towards the Mothers-planets that are energetically
weak.
